Cardiology

Cardiology focuses on the structure, function, and disorders of the heart. Common reasons to see a cardiologist include:Dr. Max Arroyo

  • Agnia - a pain or discomfort due to a temporary imbalance between the demand for oxygen by the heart muscle and the ability of the coronary arteries to supply enough blood to meet that demand
  • Valvular heart disease
  • Heart failure
  • Endocarditis - inflamation of the thin membrane that lines the interior of the heart
  • Mitral valve prolapse - a slight variation in the miteral valve shape
  • Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome - a syndrome that can lead to extreamly rapid heart rates
  • Atrial fibrillation - an abnormal heart rhythem from the upper chambers of the heart
  • Supraventricular tachycardia - an abnormal heart rhythem from the lower chambers of the heart
