Family Medical Center

Shirley MurphyFamily Medical Center is owned and operated by Lawrence Health Services. It is designated as a rural health clinic, providing clinical health care to persons in an underserved area. Because of the designation, the clinic is required to have an advanced practice nurse on hand, seeing patients at least half the time it is open.

FMC’s primary care physician and medical director is Dr. Paul Vellozo, internal medicine specialist. Dr. Ralph Joseph, the charter member of the staff, sees patients one afternoon each week. Mary Meyer, APN, and Jamie Jordan, APN provide advanced practice nursing and conducts a daily sick call period in which walk-in patients are welcomed.
