LAWRENCE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

Staff Accountant (FT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Ability to understand and apply generally accepted accounting principles is required. Responsible for preparing journal entries, detailed reports and account reconciliations.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor of Science in Accounting or related field required.
Experience: One to two years experience as full charge bookkeeper or accountant is required.

Accounting Clerk (FT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Ability to understand and apply principles and procedures of bookkeeping and accounting, clerical knowledge as well as the ability to avoid errors in coding invoices, verifying deposit totals and processing journal entries is required. The ability to use a calculator and computer is also required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A high school degree or equivalent is preferred, with some previous accounting experience.
Experience: One year experience in bookkeeping or accounting preferred.

House Supervisor RN (32 for 36WEO)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical or employment of patients of Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Must follow and enforce accepted Patient Safety practices. Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action. Must participate in safety instructional programs. Good communications skills. Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with a variety of medical and technical personnel. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to his/her age specific needs and to provide the care needed. Other duties as indicated.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Must be a graduate of an approved State School of Nursing and currently licensed in the state of Arkansas.
Training & Experience: Preferably will have two (2) years clinical experience, with one of those years being in Med/Surg medicine. Candidate would ideally have one (1) year of supervisory experience. Must be ACLS and CPR certified.

RN – Emergency Department (FT & PRN)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) To provide professional care while assuming responsibility and accountability for a group of Emergency Department patients, by providing direct and indirect care through the continued utilization of the nursing process in collaboration with other health team members. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility with a minimum of supervision. To triage safely, rapidly, and accurately, every patient that enters the emergency care system. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with Emergency Department physician about changes in patient’s status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Has completed an approved high school course of study or the equivalent thereof; and is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and holds a diploma or certificate there from; and is currently licensed in the state of Arkansas.
Experience: Up to 6 months RN experience desirable.
Licenses/Certificates: Current BLS certification. NIH, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certified within 6 months of hire.

Patient Account Representative – Family Medical Center (FT Days)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Under the supervision of the department director, physician, or nurse practitioner will perform a wide range of office and secretarial duties including answering telephone, patient scheduling, computer entry, statistical compilation, office correspondence for department, patient referrals, insurance verification, prior authorizations, compiling and maintenance of patient medical records and other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Minimum of high school degree or equivalent. Prefer prior completion of formal secretarial training program and some nursing assistant skills.
Experience: Knowledge of various secretarial duties to include telephone skills, patient scheduling, typing, computer entry, statistical compilation, recording payments, making daily bank deposits, knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes and their use, coding and posting daily office charges.

Pharmacist (FT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Compounds and dispenses medications according to orders of physicians, dentist or other practitioners authorized by law to prescribe. Supervises and checks work of supportive personnel. Must be knowledgeable of standard pharmaceutical techniques and procedures, laws governing the practice of pharmacy, drug incompatibilities and interactions, pharmacology, and toxicology. Must be able to understand the role of the pharmacy department in the hospital and its inter-relationship with other departments.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Must be a graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy with at least a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy (BSPH).
Experience: Hospital pharmacy residency and /or previous experience in hospital pharmacy is essential. Minimum of two years experience as a practicing pharmacist preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Must be currently licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Arkansas, such licensure granted by the State Board of Pharmacy after passing the required examinations or by reciprocity based in passing such examinations in another state.

Transcriptionist/Coder (FT Days)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Verbal ability necessary to comprehend medical terminology and sentence structure to properly transcribe involved technical reports. Finger dexterity is important for speed and accuracy in typing. Hearing must be good for accuracy in transcribing. Uses the complete medical record to conduct in-depth analysis of all records, i.e. outpatient, one day surgery, emergency room, etc. Uses coding guidelines and regulatory guidelines to accurately arrive at appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes. Selects combination of codes that most accurately reflects the patient’s condition/treatments and generates the maximum allowable revenue. Abstracts information on computer for billing, indexing, etc. Sends information correctly across to Business Office using the computer system.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School graduate with courses that included typing preferred. Courses in medical terminology helpful.
Experience: Some experience in office work, preferably a doctor’s office or hospital. Requires approximately three to six months on-the-job training to become proficient in transcription work and familiarity with departmental procedures.

MLT – Medical Lab Technician (PRN)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) The staff medical technologist will perform various chemical, microscopic, bacteriological, and immunological tests to obtain data used in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Ensure that the Q.C. and maintenance is performed as appropriate. Instruct new technologist, technicians. Assist with trouble-shooting instructions as appropriate. Assist in requisitioning necessary supplies, reagents and blood components.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Must have associate degree and be a graduate from an approved school of medical technology. Must be registered as a medical technologist by the American society of clinical Pathologists or be registry eligible.
Training & Experience: Training accomplished in an approved school of medical technology required. Previous experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.

Dietary Aide (FT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Responsible for washing pots and pans; assist in the cleaning operations of the patient, resident and cafeteria trays delivered to the dish-room area. Does cleaning assignment as required by cleaning schedule. Acts as back-up helper for tray lines during meals
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Must be able to read, write and make simple calculations, and follow oral and written instructions. Must have high school diploma or GED.
Experience: Previous dietary experience is desirable but not essential. On the job training provided to learn the policies and procedures of the hospital/nursing home and the dietary department.

Housekeeper (PT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Responsible for cleaning Lawrence Memorial Health Services, which includes: Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence Hall Nursing Center and Family Medical Center.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent is required. Must be able to read, write, follow instructions and lift up to 50 pounds.
Experience: Some experience is helpful, but not required.

Nursing Assistant (FT Days)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Assist patient with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit and the LPN assigned to the patient.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent is required. Must be able to read, write, follow instructions and lift up to 50 pounds.
Experience: Minimum of six (6) months experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: BLS preferred within six (6) months of hire. Annual successful completion of skills competency checklists.

LAWRENCE HALL NURSING CENTER

RN (FT) (PT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Responsible for supervising therapeutic nursing care. Serves as a role model in clinical skills and leadership. Promotes good public relations for the nursing division and Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing and licensed by the state of Arkansas.
Experience: Must be a registered nurse with at least one year of recent clinical experience. Must possess and demonstrate clinical knowledge and confidence in chosen clinical area. Prefer experience in geriatric nursing.

LPN (FT) (PT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Directly responsible for supervision of the nursing unit and provision of resident care. Must possess a good working knowledge of the nursing process and demonstrate sound clinical skills. Must promote good public relations for the unit and maintain patient confidentiality.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Must be a graduate of an approved state school of nursing and currently licensed as a practical nurse in the state of Arkansas.
Experience: New licensed practical nurse graduate or previous experience as a nursing home charge nurse with an interest in geriatrics.

CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant (FT) (PT) 2nd & 3rd Shifts Available
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Performs various duties assisting in the care of residents as assigned by the registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. Promotes good public relations for the unit and the nursing home. Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Must have completed an organized nursing assistant training program or equivalent. Must be certified by the state of Arkansas.
Experience: Must have worked as a nursing assistant within the past year. Previous experience in a geriatric setting preferred.

Hostess (FT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Responsible for providing accurate and timely food service to meet residents’ needs, in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Must be able to read, write and make simple calculations, and follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to withstand long periods of time on your feet. Must be able to lift at least 20lbs.
Experience: On the job training provided to learn the policies and procedures of the nursing home and the dietary department.
