RN – Emergency Department (FT) (PRN)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) To provide professional care while assuming responsibility and accountability for a group of Emergency Department patients, by providing direct and indirect care through the continued utilization of the nursing process in collaboration with other health team members. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility with a minimum of supervision. To triage safely, rapidly, and accurately, every patient that enters the emergency care system. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with Emergency Department physician about changes in patient’s status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Education: Has completed an approved high school course of study or the equivalent thereof; and is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and holds a diploma or certificate there from; and is currently licensed in the state of Arkansas.
Experience: Up to 6 months RN experience desirable.
Licenses/Certificates: Current BLS certification. NIH, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certified within 6 months of hire.

System Administrator (FT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Responsible for supporting the organization’s computer hardware and software. Performs installation of new hardware and software (assists major software vendors with their installations). Performs preventative maintenance as necessary on all computer hardware. Evaluates and recommends computer hardware and software for purchase. Also assists with training of software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Applications.
Education: A two year degree in computer technology or comparable certification in computer maintenance or networking. Applicable extensive work experience will be considered.
Experience: Must have at least one-year experience in computer support and/or maintenance. Experience with Microsoft Applications preferred, including; Windows, Windows NT, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Patient Account Representative / Business Office (FT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) It is the responsibility of the Patient’s Account Representative to make sure all insurance claims assigned to them are edited, corrected as needed and filed to the appropriate insurance company in a timely manner. Patient’s Account Representative will make notations in each patient account that has been filed, what was filed and when. Patient’s Account Representative is responsible for the follow-up of all insurance claims they have filed.
Education: A high school degree or equivalent is preferred. Previous hospital experience desired.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience in a health care setting is preferred. Demonstrated proficient computer, written and verbal communication, telephone and customer service skills.

Director of Health Information Management (FT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) The Director of Health Information Management for Lawrence Memorial Hospital, a critical access hospital affiliated with St. Bernard’s Healthcare, is responsible for the overall supervision of the Health Information Management Department. The position ensures compliance with state and federal laws, regulations of licensing agencies, and JCAHO standards. Services include abstracting, release of information, chart completion, transcription, cancer registry, and coding. Ensures accuracy of coding for all medical encounters according to ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding standards. Acts as the facility’s Privacy Officer. Works with legal counsel to ensure the organization meets all HIPAA requirements. Oversees the privacy training and orientation to all employees. Participates in the overall management of the revenue cycle process. Facilitates all aspects of the denial/appeal process which include tracking and trending denials and reporting outcomes. Ensures participation in performance measurement systems.
Education: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
Training & Experience: Three years’ experience in Health Information Management preferred. Knowledge of Coding Guidelines and Coding Clinics. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations. Knowledge of state and federal regulations including CMS and JCAHO standards.

Credentialed Coder (FT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Assign codes to all medical records using IC D-9-C M and or IC D-10 nomenclature and C PT classifications. Enter and/or updates data in computer system to facilitate billing procedures. Assign charge codes to emergency room records and other outpatient records as required. Responsible for working in the denials management system as directed. Functions as a part of the Clinical Documentation Improvement Program (CDIP) to ensure compliance and appropriate reimbursement.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. AHIMA credentials (RHIA, RHIT or CCS) or AAPC credentials (CPC and/or CPC -A) required.
Experience: Requires coding experience of inpatient and/or outpatient records in an acute care setting, ICD-10 CM and PCS and CPT. Experience assigning charge codes for emergency room visits and overall knowledge of professional billing. Experience with auditing and charging of other types of other types of outpatients preferred. Must be familiar with working denials and general understanding of the charge master, payer requirements, clinical documentation improvement and overall knowledge of the revenue cycle preferred. Experience with Microsoft Excel preferred.

Director of Housekeeping (FT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Responsible for coordinating the activities of housekeeping personnel in assigned areas. Evaluates work performed, maintains equipment and materials in compliance with established standards and ensures that order and aseptic techniques are maintained in all areas. Ensures fire and safety regulations are followed. Responsible for hiring, counseling, evaluating and terminating employees. Reports directly to V P of Support Service.
Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent is required. Knowledge of basic grammar required.
Training & Experience: Must have at least one year’s experience in a supervisory position. Hospital experience helpful, but not essential. Must possess leadership abilities.

MLT – Medical Lab Technician (WEO & PRN) 2 Positions
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) The staff medical technologist will perform various chemical, microscopic, bacteriological, and immunological tests to obtain data used in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Ensure that the Q.C. and maintenance is performed as appropriate. Instruct new technologist, technicians. Assist with trouble-shooting instructions as appropriate. Assist in requisitioning necessary supplies, reagents and blood components.
Education: Must have associate degree and be a graduate from an approved school of medical technology. Must be registered as a medical technologist by the American society of clinical Pathologists or be registry eligible.
Training & Experience: Training accomplished in an approved school of medical technology required. Previous experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.

Med Surg RN (FT Nights – 36 Hrs/Wk)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical or employment of patients of Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Must follow and enforce accepted Safety practices for patients. Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action. Must participate in safety instructional programs. Good communication skills with ability to notify physician and/or ambulance if necessary. Must demonstrate competent nursing skills. Must demonstrate leadership through fair delegation of duties. Must be capable of serving as a charge nurse.
Education: High school diploma or GED. An Associate or Baccalaureate degree from an approved state school of nursing. Will also consider an LPN for this position if currently enrolled in RN classes.

Sonographer/Ultrasound Tech (PRN)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical or employment of patients of Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Must follow and enforce accepted Safety practices for patients. Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action. Must participate in safety instructional programs. Good communication skills with ability to notify physician and/or emergency department if necessary.
Education: Minimum of an Associates degree in an allied health field required. Candidate must meet requirements for registry by the Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. RVT certification or eligible for RVT certification required.
Experience: Three to five years experience preferred. Sufficient working knowledge of the different phases of ultrasound the operation of assigned equipment.

Dietary Aide (FT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Responsible for washing pots and pans; assist in the cleaning operations of the patient, resident and cafeteria trays delivered to the dish-room area. Does cleaning assignment as required by cleaning schedule. Acts as back-up helper for tray lines during meals
Education: Must be able to read, write and make simple calculations, and follow oral and written instructions. Must have high school diploma or GED.
Experience: Previous dietary experience is desirable but not essential. On the job training provided to learn the policies and procedures of the hospital/nursing home and the dietary department.

Housekeeper (FT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Responsible for cleaning Lawrence Memorial Health Services, which includes: Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence Hall Nursing Center, Family Medical Center, Hoxie Medical Clinic, Rehab Services, Lawrence County Specialty Clinic and Home Medical Equipment & Supply.
Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent is required. Must be able to read, write, follow instructions and lift up to 50 pounds.
Experience: Some experience is helpful, but not required.


RN (FT) (PT)
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Responsible for supervising therapeutic nursing care. Serves as a role model in clinical skills and leadership. Promotes good public relations for the nursing division and Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.
Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing and licensed by the state of Arkansas.
Experience: Must be a registered nurse with at least one year of recent clinical experience. Must possess and demonstrate clinical knowledge and confidence in chosen clinical area. Prefer experience in geriatric nursing.

POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Directly responsible for supervision of the nursing unit and provision of resident care.  Must possess a good working knowledge of the nursing process and demonstrate sound clinical skills.  Must promote good public relations for the unit and maintain patient confidentiality.
Education: Must be a graduate of an approved state school of nursing and currently licensed as a practical nurse in the state of Arkansas.
Experience: New licensed practical nurse graduate or previous experience as a nursing home charge nurse with an interest in geriatrics.

CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant (FT) (PT) 2nd & 3rd Shifts Available
POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) Performs various duties assisting in the care of residents as assigned by the registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.  Promotes good public relations for the unit and the nursing home.  Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: A high school diploma or GED is preferred.  Must have completed an organized nursing assistant training program or equivalent.  Must be certified by the state of Arkansas.
Experience: Must have worked as a nursing assistant within the past year.  Previous experience in a geriatric setting preferred.
